I've been living in Metro Manila since 2002 and below are some of the factors that make me miss the simple living in the province.
Early in the morning you’ll hear “%$&p*tang *na mo@&$!” from noisy neighbors.
You need to ask more than 10 taxi drivers first before you can take a ride. And almost all taxi drivers are not giving back your change.
In the last MRT terminal (either Taft or North EDSA), passengers inside the train are always having a hard time to go out as the waiting passengers are blocking the doors. (sigh!)
Smoking jeepney drivers while driving (when “NO SMOKING” sign is hanging on top of their heads).
While queuing, some insensitive people can still manage to cut the line! The nerve!
Some men urinate on walls, MRT posts, and in other public places, a smell you can't really take!
Heavy traffic during peak hours (8-10am, 5-7pm). The 5 minutes ride with no traffic will become 50 minutes.
While walking on your way home, you can see people on the streets, grouping themselves and having happy hours while drinking beer. After a few hours, they will be drunk and will fight with each other. And you'll find it hard to go back to sleep again. (sigh!)
So you think you can survive Manila?
